Description
Whole House Water Filtration 20″x4.5″ Filters features:
Most homes only filter water at one tap — the kitchen sink. Everything else, the shower, the washing machine, the water heater, still runs on whatever comes straight from the city line or your well. This 3 stage whole house water filter system changes that. It filters water at the point where it enters your home, so every faucet and appliance gets the benefit.
No electricity needed. No drain line to run. Just three Big Blue filter stages doing the work, quietly, at your main water line.
How the 3 Stages Work Together
Stage 1 – Sediment Filter (5 Micron)
Water hits the sediment filter first. This stage catches sand, silt, rust, and other particles before they can reach the carbon stages or cause wear on your plumbing and fixtures. Think of it as the rough work — clearing out what you can actually see in your water.
Stage 2 – GAC Coconut Shell Carbon Filter
Next, water passes through granular activated carbon made from coconut shell. This stage goes after chlorine taste and odor, water-soluble heavy metals, and helps control scale, bacteria, and algae buildup inside the system.
Stage 3 – CTO Carbon Block Filter (5 Micron)
The final stage is a compacted carbon block. Under water pressure, this dense block filters down to sub-micron particles — straining out sediment, dirt, bacteria, microscopic organisms, and even asbestos and cryptosporidium in trace amounts. It also finishes the job on chlorine and VOCs, so what comes out the other end tastes noticeably cleaner.
Together, these three stages remove a wide range of contaminants — chlorine, chloramines, pesticides, herbicides, organic compounds, MTBE, and THMs — along with the everyday tastes and odors that make tap water unpleasant.
Built for Real Household Demand
The “Big Blue” name refers to the filter size — 20″ x 4.5″, noticeably larger than the standard 10″ filters used in most under-sink systems. That extra surface area matters. It means less flow restriction and a higher service flow rate, so your water pressure stays strong even with three filtration stages in the line.
The 1″ NPT inlet and outlet connections are also larger than the 3/4″ fittings found on standard housings, which further reduces flow restriction. This system is sized for whole-house use — homes, apartments, offices, and light commercial spaces that need real filtration capacity, not just a trickle.
Designed for Easy Maintenance
Each housing includes a built-in pressure relief valve. Before you change a filter, you release the pressure with the valve — no wrestling with a pressurized housing, no unexpected water spray. The included filter housing wrench makes removing the housings straightforward, even when they’re seated tight.
The mounting bracket keeps all three housings aligned and secured to the wall, so the whole system stays stable and filter changes stay simple, year after year.

Who This System Is For
- Homeowners on city water who want chlorine and chemical reduction at every tap, not just the kitchen sink
- Well water households dealing with sediment, taste, or odor issues throughout the home
- Landlords and property managers looking for a low-maintenance system across a rental unit or small building
- Offices and light commercial spaces that need dependable filtration without a large footprint or electrical hookup
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need electricity or a drain line to run this system?
No. This system runs entirely on your home’s existing water pressure. No electrical hookup and no drain line connection are required.
Will this system reduce my water pressure?
The larger 4.5″ Big Blue filters and 1″ NPT connections are specifically sized to minimize flow restriction, so most households see little to no noticeable drop in water pressure.
How often do the filters need to be replaced?
Sediment filters typically need replacing every 3–6 months, and carbon filters every 6–12 months, depending on your water quality and household usage. Check filters periodically and replace sooner if flow noticeably slows.
Does this system soften hard water?
No. This is a filtration system, not a water softener. It targets sediment, chlorine, and chemical contaminants. If you also have hard water (calcium and magnesium), you’ll need a separate water softener alongside this system.
Give your whole home the clean water treatment — not just one faucet.
