Refillable Inline Filter 2.5″ x 10″. Fits most standard 10″ housings
Reduces iron and manganese from water sources
Applications: This system should be employed where low to moderate ferrous (dissolved) iron or hydrogen sulfide contamination is known or expected (hydrogen sulfide produces a distinct rotten egg/sulfur odor). This filter is most effective where iron and hydrogen sulfide levels are less than 5 ppm. The best pollutant removal rates are achieved where the pH is between 6.5 and 8.5 and where the water contains some dissolved oxygen. This filter will also remove ferric iron through mechanical filtration, although a sediment filter may be a more cost-effective option.
The life of the filter cartridge depends on the contamination level (iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide levels) and the amount of water consumed on a daily basis.
What Kind of Pollutants Are You Dealing With?
problem possible cause
Metallic taste in fixtures or laundry and/or rusty red or brown stains in your water is excess iron
Black staining of fixtures or laundry from excess manganese
Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) smell of rotten eggs in water
