How It Works

Water passes through a bed of granular activated coconut shell carbon, which adsorbs chlorine along with a wide range of everyday tastes and odors. Chlorine is added by municipalities to disinfect water, but at the tap it’s responsible for that bleach-like smell and the sometimes-noticeable vapor in a hot shower. This system removes it before it reaches any faucet in your home.

Why the Manual Valve Matters

Rather than a fully automatic, electronic backwash controller, this system uses a manual valve you operate by hand when it’s due for a backwash. This keeps the system simpler and less expensive, while still giving you the real benefit of backwashing — flushing out trapped sediment and re-settling the carbon bed, which extends media life and keeps maintenance costs down over time.
