How the Redox Process Works

KDF 55 works through an oxidation-reduction (Redox) reaction. When water passes through the copper-zinc granules:

• Molecular Transformation: Electrons are exchanged to turn harmful contaminants into harmless components.
• Chlorine Neutralization: Free chlorine is converted into benign, water-soluble chloride.
• Heavy Metal Removal: Heavy metals like lead, mercury, and copper react and plate onto the surface of the media, physically removing them from your water stream.
