KDF 85 – Iron & Hydrogen Sulfide Reduction
KDF 85 is the go-to media for well water with iron or sulfur issues. It works through a natural redox (oxidation-reduction) process — converting dissolved ferrous iron into an insoluble form that gets captured in the filter bed. Hydrogen sulfide gas (that rotten egg odor) is converted into harmless, insoluble copper sulfide and removed the same way.
